I’ve heard the phrase recently: ” Every situation has a solution. If you cannot see the solution – think better“.
Brandstorming is an effective tool in this case. But sometimes inspiration gives more outcomes.
I suggest some places for inspiration to find solutions and to think better.
Where do you go for fresh inspiration?
My list is practical and simple.
- City park
- Forest
- Quay
- Mountains
- Small town
- Museum
- Short trip to get to know something new in a region’s culture or food.
- Fountain.
Park
Park is the easiest place to go for inspiration. Even if you’re sure you know every bench in your city square, the people passing by you are different every time.
Notice their style and gestures. What colors do they prefer? What is their temp?
Asking questions leads your mind to find a solution to your situation as well.
Answering questions creates new ideas because of the possibility to combine different answers in one idea.
Task to do in the city park
What subject would you add to the landscape of this park? Create a new idea for your content in this way.
Forest
I accept the fact that it’s hard to find a forest nearby. Yet when was the last time you walked in the forest? Maybe it’s time to plan the trip?
I like traveling to the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains. The energy of the forest is awesome!
Task to do in the forest
Listen to birds singing and count different types of their sounds. What are their rhythm and tones?
Quay
I’m sure nowadays the city council invests a lot of funds to create a beautiful landscape around a local lake or river.
Quay attracts visitors to walk along the shore.
Water place is like a piece of paper where you can write your values when you need to find a solution to your situation.
Task to do on the quay
Notice and fix your emotions you’re feeling right now, you felt in the morning, during the day, after communicating with some person.
Is it a comfortable feeling?
Would you like to change something to feel better?
Mountains
These days the mountains are a place to make a break and run away from the war for many Ukrainians.
Task to do in the mountains
Watch around, breathe deeply. If you can forget about the war for a while – you’re lucky.
Small town
It’s always a mystery for me what a nice local cafe or museum we can find with my husband while traveling by car.
On the other hand, you can meet people who don’t care about service or quality in their region.
It’s by chance.

Tasks to do in a small town
Visit a cafe with the best reviews, and then take a tour of a local regional museum.
Gallery or museum
For me, spending time in a museum is always about broadening my horizons.
If you’re working on some topic, it’s the best way to gather more information on the concrete theme or historical period.
A gallery is a place to see more modern ideas.
Make a choice
Just choose what is more interesting for you now – modern ideas or history.
Short trip for the concrete event
How many times a year do you plan to visit an event you like?
I mean not working trip but a tour for fresh emotions, experience. and inspiration.
You can plan to see some geographical object like a famous waterfall or another.
I liked being in the building where the famous Ukrainian film “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors” was created.
Additionally, there are a lot of historical castles in Ukraine interesting to visit and to hear local legends.
What do you prefer?
What would you like more: to find the best food (for example, cheese) nearby you or hear a legend about the region you’re living in now?
Material or spiritual? Еasty or interesting?
Fountain
I like being near water objects like a fountain.
The sound of water splashing is relaxing for me.
Fresh air encourages fresh ideas because of chaotic water drops.
You can find some pictures created by water drops to develop your imagination.
A great practice to get inspiration is to combine different facts you see around for a new idea.
For example, what if a stylish lady in red is a woman with low self-confidence and self-esteem, not a rich and successful dame as it’s generally accepted.
Task to do near a city fountain
Come up with the idea of how to dress this fountain. Will it be one color or many? How to decorate this place for some event? What dress code would be acceptable for this event?
Final thoughts about inspiration
I believe that in life you should always grow.
Travel is the best opportunity to get to know something new and find inspiration.
The lesson for me is simple: Even a short walk drives a fresh approach to the situation I’m working on.
When we need inspiration, we’re looking for someone to support us by talking and asking questions about our case.
My experience tells me that I should put these questions to myself, praise myself, not wait for someone to get interested in my work or project.
Now I’m learning to explain to myself the needs I meet by completing tasks to avoid feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.
I ask myself why I should do it? What is the purpose of this work? What am I lacking – inspiration, motivation, or just discipline?
Answering these questions helps to think better even if I am not inspired enough for this moment.
P.S. Today, the mountains are a place to take a break from the war for many Ukrainians.
